Studying abroad

Politecnico di Milano offers its students various opportunities to have an international mobility experience.

Students can carry out a study period abroad, generally from six months to a year, aimed at attending courses and obtaining educational credits that are fully recognized by Politecnico di Milano in the student's career. Students can also carry out a research period for a thesis.

Different opportunities are offered:

  • the Erasmus + Program provides the opportunity to carry out study activities (courses or theses) at a foreign partner university or an internship at a European company;
  • mobility for study is also possible outside Europe, thanks to exchange agreements entered into with numerous partner institutions;
  • Politecnico di Milano has also signed numerous Double Degree agreements aimed at obtaining a foreign qualification, in addition to the qualification issued by itself.

Furthermore, students can participate in special exchange programs (Alliance4Tech) or short mobility periods within specific networks, such as Athens and IDEA League.

It is possible to apply according with the directions provided in the competition notices published on the Politecnico di Milano's website: the criteria and application and selection periods are specified in the calls.

The available destinations are listed on the Map of partner universities. Students interested in obtaining information can contact the University's International Mobility Unit, the office that follows students before, during and after their mobility period abroad.
